The unique concert took place in the Jose Marti Anti-imperialist Tribunal, a gigantic outdoors stage located near the Office of Interests of United States in Cuba. The SINA is the building on the left of the picture.

Flags of different Latin American countries waved during the concert, among them those of Venezuela, Mexico, Argentina and Cuba. One of the thousands of fans inspired by the energy of the performance, gift the Cuban flag to Cornell, who notably excited made it float for several seconds as a symbol of friendship with the island. Cuba is avid of this type of cultural events.

The vehicle for such a purpose is its music and the social activism. That's why Morello founded Axis of Justice together with Serj Tankian, the singer of System of a Down. Axis of Justice is an organization created to support the poorest people in the era of globalization, and also to influence on the worldwide conscience about the necessity of putting an end to the war in Iraq.

The concert was opened by X Alfonso, a famous young Cuban musician who mingles Cuban music with modern rhythms such as rock, rap and electronic music.

The fans sang for over two hours the lyrics of Black Hole Sun, Like a Stone, Cochise. They were euphoric to be in front of one of the most famous rock n'roll bands in the world. They used their bodies as "fight weapons" and they fought friendly, crushing into each other in a violent dance, before the astonished eyes of numerous policemen. Nevertheless the night was calm and the event lapsed without incidents.

Rock n' roll and rap are demonstrating that, in spite of the misunderstandings during previous decades in Cuba, this kind of music is mostly committed with the best causes of social justice. These artists mobilize thousands of young people around the world in favor of the end of the war and in favor of the anti-globalization movements.

At the end of the concert, Chris Cornell looked into the horizon, closed his fists and dropped some tears on the Cuban ground. They, deeply touched by the Cuban audience, promised: Cuba, we'll be back soon!!
